Writing (on) Short Stories: A Tribute to Paulette Michel-Michot
Edited by Christine Pagnoulle
|
A collection in two parts combining two languages and two kinds of writing:
seven unpublished stories (by John Field, Nathalie Schraepen, Claire Larrière,
Christine Pagnoulle, Andrew Norris, Rose-Marie François and Dominique Hecq)
and seven essays on short stories, including considerations on the boundaries
of the genre (Michel Delville), a close analysis of a story by Faulkner
(Valérie Bada) and of one by Alice Munro (Simone Vauthier), a reader-oriented
approach to one of the stories in the first part (John Field), a biographical
approach to Soyinka’s early stories (James Gibbs), a cultural reading of Tjalie
Robinson’s Indo stories (Christine Levecq), and concluding remarks which take
us back to the classroom situation, on how stories can be used in secondary schools
to develop critical awareness (Paul Caillet).
